the challenge

Nutrano was preparing to sell its banana business and wanted to ensure a smooth transition for all stakeholders involved. This process required comprehensive internal and external communications to keep leaders, employees, growers and suppliers well-informed about the strategic decision and its implications. There was also the additional challenge of Nutrano's casual workforce not having work email addresses and being based in remote areas and at the Growers Markets.

To manage the communication needs of the sale, Nutrano engaged Enspire.

Nutrano is one of Australia's leading produce companies, operating over 2000 hectares of farms and facilities in Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

We partnered with the leadership team and crafted an internal and external communication strategy to ensure stakeholders were well-informed during the critical phase of Nutrano divesting its banana business. 

This included: 

Announcement invitations: We created informative announcement invites to engage employees. For contractors who couldn't be contacted via email, a face-to-face update was organised at the Sydney Growers Market (a first for the Enspire team!).

Leader talking points: To maintain consistency and clarity in communication, we crafted leader talking points. This allowed leaders to deliver a cohesive message during the announcements and address potential team questions.

Media release: We drafted a compelling media release that outlined the reasons behind the asset sale and highlighted Nutrano's commitment to its long-term strategy. The release emphasised the company's dedication to driving investment and growth in the citrus, tropical fruit, and blueberries segments.

Supplier/grower email templates: Recognising the significance of keeping suppliers and growers informed, we developed email templates that communicated the critical details of the sale. These templates conveyed the commitment to maintaining strong partnerships and reinforced the message of continued growth in other business areas.
